Does Custom Coiffer make lace wigs?
Wigs with a cap construction made of mesh are dubbed as "lace wigs". Custom Coiffer Natural Hairline Custom Wigs are made with a fine silk mesh and delicately tinted to match a clients skin tone. The cap construction is also able to accommodate a client's growing hair. Lace wigs do NOT compare to Custom Coiffer. Our product has been benchmarked against designer branded wigs with an industry starting price of $2,500; and has consistently stood the test at surpassing top competitors quality and appearance. Remember: All custom wigs are not created equal.

Can I wear a custom wig if I
have my own hair?
Yes, however you have to wear your hair as flat as possible (i.e.
in cornrows or wrapped with stocking cap) underneath.

Can I go swimming with my
custom wig?
Yes, you can continue to do your usual activities with your wig on. But please avoid swimming or getting the wig wet with water or
sweat for 24 hours after applying adhesives or tapes. When your wig is applied correctly, the adhesive should not lift your wig while swimming, but the shear weight of your loose wet hair can cause tension on your wig's front hairline. In order to avoid "lifting" when swimming, most women either braid their hair into a singe or two ponytails to keep their hair "organized" and manageable while swimming- the hair is less heavy.

I still wear a natural hairline wig?
Yes. Whether you have experienced hair loss due to chemotherapy,
alopecia, trichatilomania, body dysmorphia, burns, etc., our consultations
can help you design your perfect head of hair.

Can I straighten, curl and
apply heat to my custom wig hair?
Yes, this hair is 100% remi human hair and can be styled the same way you
would do your own natural hair. You can curl, flat iron, and even
roller set your new wig (place wig onto mannequin head and insert
rollers, then set under dryer). Our hair is made of 100% Remi human
hair- the finest hair in existence. Anything you can do to a natural
head of hair can be done to your Custom Coiffer. The wig is slip proof, so you can sit in your stylist chair and get you hair done.

How many colors can I use
in my custom wig?
You can blend up to three (3) colors in any type of way; highlights,
piano streaks, one color on bottom/ another color on top, etc… If you can
think of it we can create it.

How long does it take for
me to get my wig after I order it?
It generally takes about four to six weeks to receive your custom
wig from the time we receive your order. Speedy delivery service is available at extra cost ($150) Wig is completed in 12-15 days and will be delivered 1-2 days after if has been completed to your exact specifications.

What if I don't like my wig,
can I return it?
Quality and your satisfaction is our top priority. We inspect all wigs prior to shipping. However, if you get your wig and there is a problem, please notify your Custom Coiffer Consultant immediately. DO NOT cut the silk mesh, apply glue, tape or any other product to the wig. DO NOT dye it, cut it or change its original state in anyway. If you do, we will NOT accept the return. We do not issue refunds. All sales are final for hygiene reasons. If there is a problem and you are instructed to return the wig along with the associated fee and shipping cost; upon receipt of the wig, we will inspect it and determine the best way to resolve your concern. The wig must be returned to us in its original condition. If the wig has been altered in anyway this return policy does not apply. You should address all concerns with your consultant regarding your custom order at the time the wig is delivered to you. Also, review the terms listed on your sales receipt.

How long will my wig
last?
With proper care, your wig can last up to 2 years. Most women
have 2 or more Custom Coiffer wigs which they wear in rotation. You can take advantage of our Wig Revitalization service to add extra life and durability to your wig.

stock?
All Custom Coiffer Natural Hairline Custom Wigs are 100% customized to client specs. Occasionally we have a handful of display wigs which may be sold at deep discounts.

How do I attach my custom wig?
Each attachment method depends on your personal preference, life-style
and desire for security. If you are new to wearing custom wigs, your
specific attachment needs and method should be discussed with a
Custom Coiffer Consultant and/or your licensed hair stylist. See
"Attaching your wig" for specific steps.

Adhesives vs. Tapes. What should I use?
It's based on your preference. Both adhesives and tapes offer daily,
weekly and monthly wear. Adhesives are made of either a acrylic, silicone or water base. Be sure to purchase the solvent or remover
to properly remove your wig.

How do I clean tape residue or adhesive buildup
from my natural hairline wig?
***Do not attempt to clean your wig while in a rush to avoid mistakes and poor care of your wig. ***
With wig removed from your head.
STEP 1. . . Spray directly on area(s) to be cleaned or soak area(s)
were tape residue or adhesive buildup is present. (Use Opti-Sol
Solvent. Pour 'OSS' into shallow pie tin, dish, or bowl.
Allow 'OSS' to soften tape residue or adhesive buildup.
STEP 2. . . Wipe/scrape away softened tape residue or adhesive buildup. - Most people use fingernails to scrape adhesive off mesh area.

If tape residue or adhesive buildup is embedded into slink mesh material:
Using 'kitchen spray hose' with water as hot as possible.
STEP 1. . . Spray hot water (positioned as close as possible to
hair side of wig) through wig foundation. This will force embedded
adhesive to loosen and flow to underside of wig.
STEP 2. . . Wipe away residue that appears until all residue has
been removed and wig is wiped clean.
After your wig is clean and free of tape residue or adhesive buildup,
use a gently shampoo the clean the adhesive remover and loose residue from the wig.
Washing Technique
Massage shampoo onto the hair line to remove oil and residue. Gently massage shampoo onto your Custom Coiffer hair. NEVER rub hair or roughly manipulate Custom Coiffer hair in the same fashion as you might do your natural hair. Your Custom Coiffer hair must be handled gently for best results. When washing, you should simply be washing and rinsing away the build up of the hair products you have been using on your Custom Coiffer. Your Custom Coiffer can be washed on or off your head.
Most women part hair in 2 down the middle of head and gently shampoo either side of head hair in an easy orderly fashion.
*Washing hairline and washing hair can be 2 separate processes.
Shampoos
Always use low PH shampoo on your Custom Coiffer. Ph levels are important. A professional product will say right on the bottle that it has a ph level of 4.5 to 5.5. This is important because, if a shampoo is too acidic or too alkaline, it can be damaging to your hair (your Custom Coiffer hair and your natural hair). Some drug store shampoos will say that their product is Ph balanced but not give the actual ph level.
We suggest using shampoos and conditioners from the following manufactures Nexxus, Matrix Biolage, Paul Mitchell, Redken. These professional grade products have a low PH level.
Always use a detangler on your wet hair. Some women prefer to use a detangler before and after washing hair and prefer to leave conditioner in their hair while drying to give it extra softness.
When the wig is fully dried you can reattach it to your
head.
Drying your Custom Coiffer
The wig can be dried with a hand held or sit under hair dryer or set on a mannequin head to air dry. DO NOT lie wet wig on a flat surface to dry also DO NOT put wig in clothes dryer to dry.
*Most women have 2 or more Custom Coiffer wigs which they wear
in rotation. This gives you time to properly clean your wig and
not rush to clean and reattach.
***When washing/cleaning and drying your wig, complete the entire washing and drying process when you start it. DO NOT wash wig, lie it down and resume maintenance at a later date or time. Your custom wig is delicate and deserves proper care and your full attention. *** To ensure the best results, complete all maintenance steps washing, conditioning, drying one after the other.
How
do I take my measurements for my custom wig?
Use a sewing tape measurer to take your head measurements. Refer to the measuring chart on this site for guidance when
taking your measurements.
Can
I see these wigs and talk to an expert regarding my options and
other details?
All the wigs are custom made; we do not carry
any wigs in stock. Your consultant may be able to show you a wig to review up close.
The options for all wigs involve – selecting your preferred:
- Color (can choose up to 3 colors
in any mixture blend)
- Length
- Curl pattern (type of curl)
- Texture (Indian, Chinese, European remi )

Can I get a personal consultation? Can I see actual color samples?
We do offer consultations and the opportunity to review our signature color ring, curl patterns, etc... Contact us to schedule a consultation with a consultant in your area. If a consultant is not available in your area, consultation can be conducted by phone. In this scenario, we can Fed Ex you our signature color ring(s) and instructions on how to take your measurements and document the specifications for your custom order.
Loaner signature color rings are available for $60 + shipping cost. The $60 fee is refundable when the color ring is returned back to Custom Coiffer in the same condition. This fee can also be applied towards your custom order. If the color rings are not returned to Custom Coiffer or are returned in poor condition your $60 loaner deposit will not be returned plus you will automatically be charged a $60 service fee.

Do
I apply the adhesive all over my hair?
No. When wearing a Custom Coifer Natural Hairline wig adhesive is only applied around the perimeter of your hairline (right before your hairline),
never touching your hair. Our wig attachment method never involves glue, tension or puling on your hair.

How comfortable is a Custom Coiffer Natural Hairline wig?
Custom Coiffer wigs are light weight, breathable, and more comfortable than a traditional store bought wig; since there is no elastic around the edges. The silk mesh is ultra light and breathable.
